Decoder’s Directors, Nick and Tracey, have more than 30 years’ agency experience between them. So it was inevitable that they would have a few ideas about what made an agency tick. The question is… what is it that really makes them tick?
Nick Pritchard
/// Director /// Creative Director
Nick was drawn to all things creative from an early age: Macaroni art. Finger knitting. Macramé. Now all he needed was some formal industry experience! So he gave his first agency 6 months of free work experience and was rewarded with the job of TV and Print Production Manager. He never looked back. He blitzed Award School and took up art direction, producing top campaigns for Triumph, Golden Circle, Colorado, Golden Casket and Queensland Tourism. A three-year stint at another ad factory in town was all it took for Nick to stand up and yell "Enough Already! There has to be a better way to run an agency, where clients are treated like friends and staff get to be creative?" So he gathered the nicest and smartest people in town around him and created Decoder. When he's not serving as the 'glue' between clients and agency Nick sits on the Artisan and Communify boards, inspiring the ADMA Committee or promoting DM for Australia Post.
Tracey Anderson
/// Director /// CEO /// DM Strategist
A proud numbers nerd and tracking system nut, Tracey's talents were spotted early in her career when she was named the Australian Young Direct Marketer of the Year. Since then Tracey's campaign planning and strategy has impacted the ROI of some of Australia's leading and most loved brands from both sides of the client/agency fence. Tracey works passionately with Decoder clients to identify opportunities and find smart ways to use data in ways that deliver strong results. She believes in the 'maths' and pushes clients to set clear, measurable objectives that lend accuracy to results. She also knows how to work out how much you can afford to spend on your customers based on their worth to your business. Handy! When she's not making creative work harder or managing the day-to-day business at Decoder, you're most likely to find Tracey being a taxi driver for her two young children.
